Book fixed times before building the route
Group sights by geography. Timanfaya, El Golfo and La Geria belong together in the south-west; Jameos, Cueva de los Verdes and Mirador del Río form a northern day. Book fixed entry times first, then leave buffers for driving, parking and meals.
Three days: the essential route
Day one: Timanfaya at the reserved time, El Golfo and La Geria. Day two: Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and a northern viewpoint, allowing the cave slot to control the order. Day three: choose Papagayo for sheltered coves, Famara for landscape and surf atmosphere, or a slower resort day.
Five days: beaches, villages and Manrique
Keep the first three days, then use day four for Teguise, Fundación César Manrique and either Jardín de Cactus or Costa Teguise. Use day five for Papagayo plus Playa Blanca, or Famara plus Haría if the forecast favours the north.
Seven days: La Graciosa and flexibility
With a week, add a day trip from Órzola to La Graciosa and keep one flexible day for weather, a boat trip or returning to a favourite beach. Avoid placing La Graciosa on the final day because ferry disruption or sea conditions could create unnecessary stress.
Adapt the itinerary without a car
Stay in Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise and use an organised tour for the volcanic south-west. Reserve a separate northern excursion if it clearly includes your chosen attractions. Keep beach and town days for buses or taxis and confirm tour pickup before booking.
