This page explains what personal data Guide to Canarias collects, why we collect it, who else processes it and how you can exercise your rights. We only collect what we actually need to run the site.
Who is responsible for your data
Guide to Canarias operates this website and decides how the personal data described below is processed. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights listed further down, write to hello@guidetocanarias.com.
What we collect and why

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and similar technologies
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics and affiliate cookies. Nothing optional is loaded until you choose. If you decline, no Google Analytics or Travelpayouts script runs.
Your choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage so we do not have to ask on every page. You can change it at any time using the Cookie settings button in the bottom-left corner of any page.
When you follow a booking link, the partner's own site may set cookies to attribute the booking. That processing is governed by that partner's privacy policy, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure for how those links work.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of providers, each only for the purpose listed:
- Vercel — hosting and server logs.
- Resend — delivering newsletter subscriptions and operator applications.
- Google Analytics — audience measurement, only with your consent.
- Travelpayouts — attributing bookings made through affiliate links, only with your consent.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send. Operator applications are kept for as long as needed to assess and follow up on the application. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or transfer it elsewhere. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you can withdraw consent at any time — withdrawing it does not affect processing that already happened. Write to hello@guidetocanarias.com and we will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In Spain, that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date shown at the top.
