Best island combinations
Tenerife + La Gomera is the classic two-island trip (45-min ferry). Lanzarote + Fuerteventura works by ferry from Órzola/Corralejo area. Gran Canaria pairs well as a standalone or with Tenerife by short flight.
Ferry operators
Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas cover most routes. Book early in summer and around Easter. Take motion sickness tablets on Atlantic crossings if you're sensitive.
Sample 7-day route
Days 1–3 Tenerife (Teide + whales), day 4 ferry to La Gomera (Garajonay), days 5–7 fly or ferry to Lanzarote (Timanfaya + beaches). Adjust pace — island hopping is rewarding but not relaxing if over-packed.
