Gran Canaria Itinerary: 3, 5 or 7 Days
Combine Maspalomas, Las Palmas, mountain villages, beaches and the north in a realistic Gran Canaria itinerary.
Three days: south, city and mountains
Use one day for Maspalomas and the southern coast, one for Vegueta and Las Canteras, and one for a carefully limited interior route such as Tejeda plus nearby viewpoints. Reserve enough daylight and avoid adding distant northern stops to the mountain day.
Five days: add Mogán and the north
Add Puerto de Mogán or another south-west coast day, then choose Agaete and the north or more time in Las Palmas. This creates contrast without crossing the island repeatedly. Check mountain access and beach conditions each morning.
Seven days: travel at island pace
Use extra days for Teror, Arucas, a focused hiking route, a boat trip or returning to the best beach conditions. Keep one flexible day because cloud, wind and heat differ across the island's microclimates.
Adapt the plan to your base
From Las Palmas, prioritise city, north and central access; from Maspalomas or Puerto Rico, prioritise southern beaches, Mogán and organised interior trips. Splitting accommodation can save driving only if the luggage move does not consume the benefit.
