Three days: three island faces
Day one covers the north-east: Valverde's viewpoints, then Tamaduste or La Caleta's volcanic coves for a swim. Day two belongs to El Golfo — greenery, the natural pools at La Maceta and Charco Azul when conditions allow, and the western cliff viewpoints above. Day three crosses to the south: El Pinar, La Restinga and the volcanic coastline. Three days, three faces, one comfortable pace.
Five days: add the far west
Day four earns the island's far west: La Dehesa's juniper pastures, the famous wind-shaped El Sabinar tree, and Orchilla at the island's tip — the lonely lighthouse that once marked the world's edge. A week lets the island run on its own terms: a diving morning, a proper walk above El Golfo, a slow day by a pool that the sea cooperates with, an evening in Valverde. Keep the final day simple and near your departure — Hierro's goodbye deserves to be unhurried.
