Oasis Park or Oasis Wildlife? Same park, new name

Most visitors and many guidebooks still call it Oasis Park, La Lajita. The park now trades as Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura, and its official website is oasiswildlifefuerteventura.com. The old oasispark.com address no longer belongs to the park: it now leads to a domain-sale page, so do not buy tickets through any site that uses it.

Getting there: the park bus from your hotel

The park runs its own bus every day from hotels in the south, including Jandía, Esquinzo and Costa Calma, with a separate northern route. You do not need to book a seat: go to the stop listed for your hotel a few minutes early. The ride is not free, though: either buy the bus ticket online beforehand or pay at the ticket office when you arrive, in cash or by card. Return buses leave the park at 16:00 and 17:00. From Costa Calma the drive is short, and the park is right on the FV-2 at La Lajita.

Official website or a reseller?

The official site sells the ticket and promotes an online price. GetYourGuide sells the same entry ticket; compare the total and the cancellation terms for your date before choosing. Buying online either way saves queuing at the ticket office in high season.

Planning the day

The park opens every day from 9:00 to 18:00 and suggests a whole day, which is realistic with children once you add the animal presentations, the botanical gardens and lunch. Check the day's presentation schedule at the entrance, as the park updates it and some areas close for refurbishment. On Sundays a craft and produce market with more than 80 stalls runs at the park, which is worth a stop before you go in. Bring sun protection: much of the visit is outdoors in the south of the island.
